WHERE DO THE SCREENINGS TAKE PLACE?

The Washington Jewish Film Festival hosts screenings throughout metropolitan DC and Southern MD. For venue addresses, parking and public transportation information, see our venues page.

HOW DO I GET TO THE DCJCC VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION? BY BIKE?

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) offers regular service on both Metro and Metrobus within walking distance of the Washington DCJCC. Visit www.wmata.com to plan your public transit route.

By Metro:
Take the Metro Red Line to Dupont Circle. Exit at Q Street (North entrance). Walk 4 blocks east on Q Street, crossing over Connecticut Avenue. The Center is located  at the Southeast Corner of 16th Street and Q Street.

By Metrobus:
The Washington DCJCC is accessible within 1-2 blocks via the G2, 52, 53, 54, S1, S2, or S4 Metrobus routes.

By Bike:
The Washington DCJCC is accessible by the city’s public bicycle routes. Bike racks are available for securing your bike. A Capital BikeShare station is located two blocks away on 17th NW & Corcoran St. NW and also at P St. NW & 15th NW. To plan your bicycle route, visit www.ridethecity.com.

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Doors open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening, and seating is first-come, first-served at every venue with the exception of Avalon Theatre. Due to the cold weather we are using assigned seating at Avalon Theatre to prevent long lines outside. You are welcome to come at any point before the show begins, but for general admission seating we recommend coming 20-35min prior to get the best seats.

Please note that ticket and pass-holders must be seated 15 min prior to show start time to guarantee admittance.

CAN I BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR OR SHOULD I RESERVE IN ADVANCE?

As many of our screenings sell out, we always recommend purchasing tickets in advance. If there are tickets still available, door sales will typically start one hour prior to the screening start time. Door tickets are $15.

HOW DO WJFF PASSES WORK?

WJFF offers several types of passes: year-round passes, seasonal passes, film festival passes, and under-30 film festival passes. With the exception of cost, these passes generally work in the same ways:

Passes are non transferable. Once you purchase a pass and ticket sales begin, you will receive an email with instructions for how to login to your online account and select the films you would like to see during the festival. Any tickets over the eligible amount designated by your pass level, will be charged full admission. For example, if you are eligible for one (1) ticket to a film and you put two (2) tickets in your cart, you will be charged full price for one (1) ticket.

Your selected film tickets will then be reserved and you may choose to print those tickets at home or pick them up at the Box Office on the day of the screening.

All pass-holders are guaranteed a seat if they select their films at least 5 days in advance of the screening. If pass-holders do not select their films at least 5 days in advance of the screening, access will be granted on a first come, first served basis (space permitting).

Pass-holders will receive a personalized Festival Badge. Pass-holders are required to present their Festival Badge AND their printed film ticket at the theater to gain access to their chosen film screenings. All ticket and pass holders must be seated 15 min prior to screening start time to guarantee admittance.

Passes are a great deal, and can save you up to 75% off of individual ticket prices. Please note that passes are non transferable!

I AM INTERESTED IN BRINGING A GROUP OF PEOPLE TO A SCREENING. CAN I GET A DISCOUNT?

Absolutely! We offer discount rates for groups of 10 people or more. To find out more, please email AlexisR@washingtondcjcc.org.

CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS OVER THE PHONE?

Yes. However, a $3 phone commission per ticket will be added to your total. Please call the WJFF Box Office at 202-777-3250 if you would like to make a phone purchase.

CAN I GET A REFUND FOR A TICKET I CAN'T USE?

WJFF has a strict no refund, no exchanges policy. The Festival can not offer any refunds unless a screening is canceled or unable to proceed. However, you are welcome to donate your ticket to the box office. Read our Terms & Conditions page for more information.

I BOUGHT TICKETS...WHERE DO I PICK THEM UP?

Print your tickets at home and skip the will call line! All tickets selected for will call pick up will be charged $1.

WILL THERE BE FOOD? CAN I BRING FOOD INTO THE THEATER?

Most film screenings at the DCJCC will have a concession stand with snacks and drinks available for purchase. Food purchased within the DCJCC may be brought into the theater. Each venue has it’s own food policies, however, the majority of venues have concessions available for purchase that may be brought into the theater.

ARE YOUR VENUES ACCESSIBLE TO PATRONS IN WHEELCHAIRS OR WITH SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS?

All WJFF venues are in compliance with ADA regulations and provide access for patrons using wheelchairs, walkers, canes or crutches. Ample doorways and ramps provide easy wheelchair accessibility.

Removable seats provide patrons with the opportunity to be seated with their companions while sitting in their wheelchair.

Please inform the WJFF Box Office of your needs at the time of ticket purchase and indicate if companion seats are required as well.

HOW DO I SUGGEST A FILM TO INCLUDE IN YOUR FESTIVAL AND/OR YEAR-ROUND SERIES?

To suggest a film, please email ilyat@washingtondcjcc.org. Please note that we generally only play films that have not previously screened in the Washington, DC area (with the very occasional exception).

We book our screening calendar 6-9 months out, so if we decided to pursue your suggestion, it would not play right away.

Please also note that while we look at every suggestion, we consider over 1,000 submissions and potential films a year, so inclusion in our program is quite competitive.
